The case
Old Pulteney’s bicentenary programme spans four months across Paris Charles de Gaulle, Edinburgh and Heathrow. The Harbour in a Storm theme uses Wick’s coastal heritage in airport displays. Guided tastings pair the travel-retail 10, 13 and 16 Year Old expressions with locally sourced chocolate. The programme also showcases rare 30 and 50 Year Old whiskies, with the latter limited to 200 bottles worldwide. Complimentary anniversary postcards and gifts with purchase add physical takeaways. The activity began in Paris in July, with Edinburgh and Heathrow activity following in September.
The observation
The anniversary becomes something travellers can compare, taste and carry away.
Evidence and context
The sources do not establish a postcard QR route, registration, stored preferences or a later CRM journey. No programme performance is disclosed.
